CHARACTER
Name: Henry Mills
Canon: Once Upon a Time
Age: 11 (but he looks 16 in Pan's body)
Timeline: 3x09 Save Henry - Comes from Pandora's Box so he's in Pan's body.
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: N/A
Personality: A lot of Henry's personality traits have been descended from what we know of his mother and his grandparents. The selflessness, putting other needs in front of his own and the faith that his actions are for the right reasons. Ever since Mary Margaret gave him the Once Upon a Time book, he has been claiming the entire populous of Storybrooke was under the curse described in the book and he spends all of time and energy trying to find a way to break it.
Despite his actions having bad consequences, he does what needs to be done to achieve his goals and doesn't care about the cost to himself. He steals Mary Margaret's credit card to find Emma and then to get to Boston and bring her back to Storybrooke. He misses days of school to make her understand about the curse and try and get her to help him break it. And he eats the cursed apple turnover just to make Emma believe he is real. All of which he does selflessly in the faith that what he is doing will have the results he hopes for.
After the curse is broken, he continues to have faith that Emma and Mary Margaret are safe and looking after each other in the Enchanted Forest even if he needs a little convincing from David. Despite his outward appearance of bravery, he is still just a child and needs the reassurance and love of his family to help him get through rough spots - which there have been many both before the curse and after. He also has faith in Regina that she can change and be good, and this faith in her is just as important to her as it is to him.
The thing Henry wants most of all, is to be a hero. And he gets this chance when he can use his sleeping curse to get messages to Emma and Mary Margaret in the Enchanted Forest. But this comes at the price of using magic given to him by Gold and he also sees Regina use magic. This magic is something he is very wary of as he has only seen the bad side to magic through the curse and the other acts Regina does after the curse is broken. This is why he asks Regina to promise not to use magic.
Henry’s want to be a hero is what Pan uses in Neverland to persuade Henry to do what Pan wants. He makes it sound like everything Henry always wanted and thus the boy thinks he’s doing the right thing. Saving magic, despite hating it, because he wants to save Wendy’s life. He’s all about saving people even if he has to sacrifice himself. Sadly this was the wrong thing to do and he quickly learns from that.
Unfortunately, this want is dampened by everyone around him treating him like a child before all that occurs. He may be one on the outside but he is strong and brave on the inside which he wants to show. Sadly, there is a fine line between bravery and stupidity and it almost gets himself killed not long after Emma decides to stay. He goes into the mine and gets trapped trying to find proof that his book is real. He believes that if people treated him more as an adult, then this might not have happened. But then again, Pan treats him as such and he still makes the mistake of giving up his heart. He still has a lot to learn which makes him a more rounded character.
All in all, Henry may just be a child but he is very courageous and selfless and willing to do what is necessary to prove this and help anyone in trouble, especially those he loves. He has his flaws but he learns from his mistakes like a true hero should.
Background: Henry Mills @ OUAT Wiki
Abilities: Henry has no special powers or abilities to speak off. Just faith in his family and possibly the potential for magic though that is unknown at the present time. Even in Pan's body, he has no magical ability as that was passed into his own body so that Pan could carry out his plan using his shadow and eventually ripping out Felix' heart.
